چکیده

We explore a single morphogenetic algorithm to model neural plasticity in small-scale networks. Using randomly-generated McCullochPitts networks and the simulation outlined by Dammasch et al (1986), we attempt to simulate the effects of a compensation algorithm on longterm network behavior and morphogenetic changes. The results obtained indicate further development is required to properly analyze these effects.

Event-Driven Simulation Scheme for Spiking Neural Networks Using Lookup Tables to Characterize Neuronal Dynamics

Nearly all neuronal information processing and interneuronal communication in the brain involves action potentials, or spikes, which drive the short-term synaptic dynamics of neurons, but also their long-term dynamics, via synaptic plasticity. In many brain structures, action potential activity is considered to be sparse. This sparseness of activity has been exploited to reduce the computationa...

Influences of Small-Scale Effect and Boundary Conditions on the Free Vibration of Nano-Plates: A Molecular Dynamics Simulation

This paper addresses the influence of boundary conditions and small-scale effect on the free vibration of nano-plates using molecular dynamics (MD) and nonlocal elasticity theory. Based on the MD simulations, Large-scale Atomic/Molecular Massively Parallel Simulator (LAMMPS) is used to obtain fundamental frequencies of single layered graphene sheets (SLGSs) which modeled in this paper as the mo...

Wafer-scale VLSI implementations of pulse coupled neural networks

In this paper, we present a system architecture currently under development that will allow very large (>10 neurons, >10 synapses) reconfigurable networks to be built, in the form of interlinked dies on a single wafer. Reconfigurable routing and complex adaptation/plasticity across several timescales in neurons and synapses allow for the implementation of large-scale biologically realistic neur...

Very Fast Load Flow Calculation Using Fast-Decoupled Reactive Power Compensation Method for Radial Active Distribution Networks in Smart Grid Environment Based on Zooming Algorithm

Distribution load flow (DLF) calculation is one of the most important tools in distribution networks. DLF tools must be able to perform fast calculations in real-time studies at the presence of distributed generators (DGs) in a smart grid environment even in conditions of change in the network topology. In this paper, a new method for DLF in radial active distribution networks is proposed. The ...
